The Open Agriculture Initiative is on a mission to create more farmers for the future of food production through open source agriculture systems.
The MIT Media Lab Open Agriculture (OpenAg) Initiative is on a mission to create healthier, more engaging, and more inventive future food systems. We believe the precursor to a healthier and more sustainable food system will be the creation of an open-source ecosystem of food technologies that enable and promote transparency, networked experimentation, education, and hyper-local production. OpenAg is developing an open source “food tech” research collective for the creation of the global agricultural hardware, software, and data commons.
We’re looking for a talented professional to lead the design and development of a large-scale open-source initiative. We’re looking for someone to help interconnect a worldwide eco-community of automated crop-growing farm computers. You will join a cross-discipline team, where you’ll define requirements for the full software stack and provide development guidance to a team of researchers and staff members.
You’re perfect for this position if you get energized in a collaborative environment, you take a conceptual approach to software design decisions, and you want to join one of the coolest projects in the world.
