We currently employ more than 1,000 dedicated, mission-driven teachers, administrators and staff to serve more than 10,000 students. Our academic model is designed to create small, safe, high-performing learning environments that meet individual student needs. Several of our California high schools have been recognized as “America’s Best” by Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report. In 2014, more than two-thirds (67.3%) of Green Dot California graduates completed the “A-G” course requirements needed to be considered “college-ready” by the University of California system. This college-ready graduation rate far exceeds the statewide average of 39.4%.
Green Dot operates 21 public charter schools in California (14 high schools, 7 middle schools), two in Tennessee and one in Washington State. In addition, we have been authorized to open up to 5 high schools and 5 middle schools in Tennessee over the next several years, as well as another school in Washington State. All of our schools are purposefully located in highest-need communities, are publically funded and free to attend.
The Digital Producer will assist with the development & implementation of a multi-platform content strategy, featuring video. The Digital Producer will work closely with the Digital Campaigns & Strategies Manager (DCSM) to track and present progress on video and content initiatives to ensure advancement toward team goals. The Digital Producer will also work directly with school leaders, students, and families to capture and showcase their stories in compelling digital experiences.
The role is responsible for creating, capturing and producing high quality digital narrative assets for key social media and web platform, with particular attention to specifications and stakeholder needs. This is an ideal role for someone with a passion for digital media and a background in journalism or storytelling.
Serve as an evangelist for our mission, brand, and content through thought leadership, content creation, and digital campaigns.
Work closely with the Communications Director and Digital Campaigns & Strategies Manager to implement and refine our comprehensive new media editorial strategy, including a focus on video and multimedia
Develop several content pieces each week, including video assets for specific campaign and organizational goals.
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our content and video strategy
Cooperate with graphic designer to match visual design intent/language
Gathering, refining and sharing requirements and project specifications that can build sufficient buy-in from external teams and other Green Dot colleagues
Lead, attend, and participate in project kickoff meetings with colleagues
Develop user friendly and intuitive metrics to evaluate our tactics and strategies.
Document operational configurations, processes and procedures
Integrate provided designs into video editing or articles
Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Regularly report on analytics of these assets
Other tasks as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Communications, English, Literature or a related field
Proficient in professional-grade video editing software (Avid, Premiere, or FCP preferred)
Expertise and hands on experience with digital video production & distribution
A solid understanding of how video works, including pre-production, permissions management, and post-production processes
Deep understanding of web-related behaviors and trends, and the ability to optimize for them.
Experience with data-driven analysis and content optimization.
Creative problem solving skills
Ability to communicate directly with peers, managers, and clients while leading development to a completed and successful solution.
Strong communication and writing skills.
The ability to work well under pressure on time-sensitive issues, shift priorities and meet deadlines
